Southeast Asian Soccer-Engagement Program

The Hawthorne Neighborhood Council and Lao Assistance Center are excited to partner on the re-launched Southeast Asian Engagement Program – Soccer Strategy in 2018.

This program has helped establish a strong partnership between North Minneapolis neighborhood organizations and City Departments and the Southeast Asian community of Cambodia, Hmong, Lao, Vietnamese and Karen residents. A weekly gathering for the Southeast Asian community strengthens their connections and provides a networking opportunity with neighborhood organizations and city departments through collaboration on an ongoing outreach event using soccer to draw and engage North Minneapolis Southeast Asian residents. Neighborhood organizations and city departments are recognized in all promotional materials, acknowledged at the events, have the opportunity to table and present at the event, and financially support the program.

Details:  A Saturday noon soccer league for Southeast Asian residents at Farview Park from mid-November 2017 to April of 2018.
