Right before New Year’s, the deadline for applications for mortgage relief for federally backed mortgages was extended to February 28, 2021 under the CARES Act. The Minnesota Commerce Department and Minnesota Housing issued a joint consumer alert to encourage homeowners who may be impacted by COVID-19 financial hardships to contact a home ownership advisor to see if they are eligible.

MN COVID-19 Housing Assistance Program- Rental and Mortgage Assistance The COVID-19 Housing Assistance Program provides housing assistance payments to help prevent eviction, prevent homelessness, and maintain housing stability for eligible renters and homeowners.
There is still a significant amount of CRF-ESP funding available for expenses through December 30, so please consider what expenses might be needed to address COVID-19 in your shelter and/or outreach programs and submit a survey to request funds by November 30, 2020.
